Allison, this looks amazing! I've managed to get half the ingredients throughout the week and will get the rest today in hopes of re-creating your masterpiece. Wish me luck :)

Hi Michael,
Thanks for checking out Local Lemons. I shop at Tokyo Fish Market occasionally, but most of the time I get my fish at Ver Brugge in Rockridge on College Ave. I also really like the fish market on Hopkins Ave. next to Monterey Market, but they're a bit pricer.
For vegetables, I usually shop at the farmers' markets in Berkeley and Oakland, or Monterey Market. Yasai Market on College Ave. has great stuff, as does Star Grocery on Claremont Ave. I only go to Berkeley Bowl for hard-to-find items, although I really enjoy just browsing around in there. I am not crazy about the fish or meat from the Bowl.
I haven't been to Montgomery's yet, but I'll definitely check it out. I hear Piedmont Grocer has a lot of local produce, but I haven't been there yet either.
Thanks for the great question!

Where else in the eastbay have you had luck in finding quality seafood at an affordable price. I've been doing my fish shopping at Tokyo fish and vegetables at either berkeley bowl or montgomery's. I'd be interested to hear what you have to say about this.
